Questions Families Frequently Ask

Q-Does my child have to memorize her story?

A-No! She should just be able to tell it in her own words with a lot of expression.

Q- Will any other papers come home?

A-Yes! Forms will need to be signed and returned so that you are aware of your child’s selection and the date of his performance in the classroom.

Q- Am I invited to the classroom performance?

A- No, sorry. It’s a classmate-to-classmate thing. (If your child is elected by her classmates to tell her story at the May 24 assembly, you will be notified and invited to attend.)

Q- How can I help?

A- Encourage your child to practice, practice, practice! Have him perform his story for the neighbors, grandma, your pet hamster, etc. The more he performs his story, the more comfortable he’ll become with storytelling.
