About the Library Media Center

The Trumansburg Elementary School Library provides opportunities for students and staff to browse the collection and check out books and magazines, conduct research, access the Internet and selected educational databases, and read for enjoyment in a peaceful environment.  The collection contains over 14.000 books and magazines.  Both the circulation and card catalog are automated.  A group of computers offers patrons an opportunity to access the Internet, use other computer research tools and selected computer programs.  The library is staffed by a full-time Library Media Specialist, Michele Kolodij and one Library Media Assistant,  Judy Crandall.  The Library is open daily from 7:50 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.  Students may check out materials anytime during the school day with teacher permission.  Classrooms are scheduled in the library once a week on a fixed schedule for 30 minutes.  Emphasis is placed on the integration of information literacy skills and the promotion and development of literature appreciation.
